HAGGERTY delivered the ground-up construction of a new 14,000-square-foot animal shelter facility for the City of Lodi, designed to support modern animal care operations and long-term community use.

The project included the development of a fully integrated shelter environment with capacity for dogs, cats, and specialty animal housing. The facility features quarantine and isolation areas, medical and treatment rooms, administrative offices, and public-facing spaces, all designed to create a clear separation between operational and visitor functions.

Scope of work encompassed complete site development and building construction, including structural systems, prefabricated specialty components, and installation of comprehensive MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and fire protection systems. Key elements included a prefabricated freezer building, shade structures, kennel enclosures, and exterior signage, supporting both operational efficiency and animal welfare.

Site improvements included utility infrastructure extensions, parking areas, landscaping, and outdoor exercise and kennel spaces, along with accommodations for livestock and emergency animal housing. The project also incorporated stormwater management, energy-efficient systems, and code-compliant safety and security features, aligning with current municipal and environmental standards.

This project reflects HAGGERTY’s ability to deliver complex, ground-up public facilities that balance operational functionality, user experience, and long-term asset performance.
